1. How old were you when you first started singing?
I was 8 years old, and church was my first experience singing and then I picked it up again when I was in my twenties. Singing didn't become serious until my 30's, as I was becoming a songwriter. While I was in High School, I played the drums for the school band, which was my first instrument and in my later life I picked up the keyboard just enough to come up with the melodies for my songwriting.
2. Who was/is your biggest musical inspiration? Let's see, I have had many inspirations over the years starting while I was in High School. My older brother, Junior exposed me musically. He played the guitar in a band. Then a guy called "Booboo" which I never knew his real name, but he would come around and sing the 'Mickey Mouse' song in a R&B style. He would make it sound so easy. And so, I have appreciated many genres over the years and still do but as inspirational vocalists to me would be Michael McDonald, James Ingram, Teddy Pendergrass, Freddie Jackson, Steve Perry, Marvin Gaye, Peabo Bryson, and last but not least Jeffrey Osborne.
3. Where do you make your home?
I've been living in Hawthorne, CA., USA for 10 years now. I moved from Fort Worth, Texas to LA, California over 40 years ago.
4. Do you have any pets?
Not currently, however, we did enjoy and loved 2 small dogs: Bernard (Yorkshire Terrier) & Perris (Papillon) for close to 16 years until their passing. We were grateful to have them so long.
5. What is the best concert/gig you have ever done?
With my band 'Resurrection Road' (soulful rock-blues), we performed at a smaller venue and a local landmark called 'The Mint' in West Los Angeles, established in 1937. Many artists have played and broke there over the years. Iām also looking forward for International tour with ThreeStyle and hopefully thru USA and Canada in 2025.
6. What is the best concert you have ever attended?
During the 80's I worked private security at the Forum in Inglewood, CA. and was I fortunate to see a lot of great bands/artists but a couple stood out and the most memorable ones were Prince and Journey.
7. Do you have an all-time favourite song or album?
Yes, I have a lot of favorite songs but if I had to pick one it would be 'Back In Love Again' by LTD and of course Jeffery Osborne. As for an album, I would have to pick Teddy Pendergrass 'Life Is a Song Worth Singing.'
8. What musician would you still most like to work with?
Now I have a few. I would love to work with Jeffrey Osborne & Michael McDonald and If I had to pick female artists, because I love duets, I would pick Anita Baker & Patti Labelle.
9. If you weren't a musician what would you be?
An OTR Truck driver, as I am now. lol
10. What is your favourite thing about Vancouver?
I haven't been to Vancouver yet, however, the Wave 983.FM is currently my favorite thing about Vancouver.
