Lindsey Webster - Music in Me

Imagine releasing your very first single (“Fool Me Once” - 2016) and it reaches number one on the Smooth Jazz chart at Billboard magazine.  That is a pretty cool accomplishment, made even cooler by the fact that you are the first vocalist since Sade's 2010 "Soldier of Love" to have a vocally-driven song hit the top spot in this primarily instrumental format.

That cool chick is Lindsey Webster who now, 10 years later, has released her new a biographically definitive album - Music in Me.

With pipes that never fail to impress and a musical sensibility that shines through every note, Miss Webster sings every song on this record with the full conviction of a woman who has experienced love, pain and the whole damn thing.

Music in Me - A musical diary of a woman destined to write, sing and perform. She was born with this gift!

“Simple (Make Love)” - A slow jam for the ages, sultry, smoky and very sexy.

“What is Meant to Be” - Getting her funk on, cool and grooving. I love that this girl could oversing but she rarely does. She knows when to lay it back and let the music talk.

My favourite track?  Of course, it is always the last one. In this case, an elegantly cinematic version of "Music in Me" that lasts all of one minute! Oh how I wish she had finished the song in this gorgeous, symphonic realm. Breathtaking.

Lindsey grew up in Woodstock (yes, THAT Woodstock), New York and began her musical journey on the cello! She soon discovered her voice as Mariah Carey, Christine Aguilera and Earth, Wind and Fire found places in her influential sphere. All are evidenced on this new record, as her musical prowess soars to new heights.

As she celebrates her 10th year at the top of the charts, Lindsey Webster is still on fire; she most definitely has the music in her!
