Listening to Third Force’s latest album, Life Force, it's all about the energy with these guys. Since the early days of new age in the 80's, William Aura has been producing stunning melodies for his beautiful instrumentals made up of synths, trumpets, flutes and exotic percussive sounds. When the 90’s arrived, he hooked up with composer, Craig Dobbin, who became known for his extensive TV series and feature film work. On Life Force (Baja/TSR Records) they continue their brilliant collaboration, creating trippy chill rhythms with the help of over a dozen guest musicians, including renowned smooth jazz guitarists like Brian Hughes, Lawson Rollins and Nils. The duo even connected with saxophonist, Rodney Taylor (Patrice Rushen, Anita Baker), whose powerful notes are highlighted on the track, ‘Now And Forever’ where he trades off with a Nepalian flute player for an alluring 4:57 of pure bliss. Life Force would be my top choice for 2025 album of the year!
