Open Streets on King!
We're excited to announce the return of Open Streets on King in 2025!
Join us for two amazing Sundays along the iconic King Street route, from John Street to Gage Avenue, where you can walk, cycle, roll and play along King Street East.
This year, we've extended the hours to 10 am to 4 pm to give you even more time to enjoy the route and all the activities and entertainment.
Open Streets temporarily closes selected streets to vehicular traffic, transforming them into lively spaces where people can walk, bike, skate, and engage in various activities. It's a chance to experience our city in a whole new way, promoting active living, local businesses, and community connections.
Open Streets Hamilton promotes physical activity, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion. By opening our streets to people of all ages and abilities, we create opportunities for healthier lifestyles, stronger communities, and a more vibrant city for everyone to enjoy.
The purpose of Open Streets Hamilton is to:
Promote active lifestyles
Foster community connection
Encourage sustainable transportation
Support local businesses
Enhance public space
Promote equity and inclusion

Strides of Support for Alopecia Areata
Strides of Support for Alopecia Areata
Join us for Strides of Support for Alopecia Areata, the first-ever national fundraising and awareness walk hosted by the Canadian Alopecia Areata Foundation (CANAAF)! Taking place on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Burlington (ON), Montreal (QC), Halifax (NS), and Richmond (BC), this event brings together individuals, families, and communities in a united stride of support for those affected by alopecia areata—a chronic autoimmune condition that causes hair loss on the scalp, face, and body. Help us to raise critical funds for support programs, advocacy efforts, and educational initiatives, while also increasing visibility and understanding of this often misunderstood condition. Whether you're walking to support a loved one, raise awareness, or share your own journey, every step helps break stigma and build community.
How You Can Help:
Register to walk in one of our four host cities
Fundraise individually or as a team—every dollar makes a difference! After registering for the event, you will receive a link to create your own fundraising page to send to personal contacts.
Share your story and help amplify awareness nationwide
Wear Blue to show your support for Alopecia Areata
Together, we are making strides toward a more informed, inclusive, and supportive future for all Canadians living with alopecia areata.
Let’s walk with purpose. Let’s walk with pride. Let’s walk for awareness.
